Ned Schwing said in his reference reserve around the Product 1890 & 1906 that Winchester began evidence marking them in 1908… I do not know if Winchester pistols that is correct, but will believe that it is. The “WP” proof mark was utilized once the barrel and receiver have been mated, assembled and concluded. This is extremely apparent to the firearms made during the late teenagers through early 30s in the event the blue flaked (popped) off when the evidence was struck to the receiver frame.
Commemoratives were being created in relatively big figures and consequently the “rarity” generating the collector worth is grossly fewer than the original Winchester models that are becoming antique collector things these days. On the other hand, an impressive assortment of Winchester Commemoratives may be assembled for any fraction of the price of the antique models, and all in new to nearly new affliction.
